Floyd Mayweather Vs Miguel Cotto Report from Their Training Camps: Fan's Look

Floyd "Money" Mayweather and Miguel Cotto are focused on training for their May 5, "Ring Kings" HBO PPV bout taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. For Mayweather, being back in the gym feels normal as he trains at the Mayweather Boxing Club surrounded by familiar faces and teammates, while Cotto is honing his skills at his camp in Orlando, for the second time.
Scheduled for 12 rounds, Mayweather will be fighting Cotto at 154 pounds, a weight that some believe may pose a problem for the seven-time world champion. However, Mayweather is not worried stating, "My body feels great. I always fight around the weight I carry when I'm not fighting. Now, I can just work harder to feel stronger and more comfortable at 154 pounds. I haven't had to adjust that much because my body has always just kind of found its comfort zone and that's where I fight. I've been given a special gift with my weight. I have never had to worry about it other than to get in the best shape possible for all of my fights."
I love Miguel Cotto, but my money's on Mr. Money for this match-up. With Floyd's record at 42-0, the stakes are high for that "0". One day it will have to go. But will it be Cotto who delivers the blow to take the "0"? Can he find a way to make that happen?
"It feels good to be fighting again," said Mayweather. "I'm getting great work from my sparring partners and the energy in the gym is perfect for training hard every day. I'm aware of Miguel Cotto's record and success. I'm not taking him lightly. I'm working hard to get ready for the fight on May 5."
I have a soft spot for Miguel Cotto ever since his TKO win over Antonio Margarito in December 2011. Redemption is sweet with one of the ring announcers on the video saying, "Cotto's left hand, landing at will" to win the match for Cotto. Coming off a three fight win streak, Cotto looks confident as he prepares to battle "Money" Mayweather to defend and retain his WBA Super World light middleweight title and the right to be called "King of Kings".
"Training is going great," said Miguel Cotto. "I am having fun and enjoying it more than ever. I love it here and I feel at home. I have the same focus and mentality to obtain a victory as I did when camp started. [Trainer] Pedro [Diaz] is a magnificent strategist."
Cotto has kept the same people in his camp over the last few years, including his mother, who cooks for Team Cotto.
"I have the same diet as always," continued Cotto. "My mother is with me, so you can imagine how well I am eating."
That sounds good to me. If I were Cotto's mother, I would give him permission--not to apologize to Mayweather for anything that happens in the ring. "Protect yourself at all times," means don't drop your guard in the middle of the round because Money will knock you out. During their September 2011 bout, Victor Ortiz switched to apologizing, but after the apology was over, Mayweather beat Ortiz to the first couple of punches, resulting in a legal knockout win for Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Cotto's Inspiration to defeat Mayweather
While Cotto's team helps to keep him motivated, he credits his father, Miguel Cotto Sr., as his biggest inspiration to work hard and to win on May 5.
"The memory of my father is the biggest motivation in my life," said Cotto. "I feel more motivated at this point than any other in my career. I feel more motivated to beat Mayweather than I did when I was training for my first world title."

Cotto will get on his bicycle as soon as mayweather pops him a few jabs.
