New Brunswick featherweight contender Jorge Diaz (16-1, 10 KOs), who is signed to a promotional contract with Golden Boy, rebounded from his first career loss with a third round TKO over Irvington's Rafael Lora (11-7, 5 KOs) Saturday night at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

With Lora turned away, Diaz inadvertently struck his opponent with right cross to the back of the head. Lora went down and chose not to continue, giving referee Sparkle Lee no choice but to stop the bout and declare Diaz the winner with 11 seconds remaining in the third of six scheduled rounds.

In the main event, former WBA and IBF featherweight champion Yuriokis Gamboa (21-0 16 KOs) won a technical decision over former WBO titlist Daniel Ponce De Leon (41-4, 34 KOs). Gamboa was in complete control when a clash of heads caused a deep gash on Ponce De Leon's forehead. On the advice of the ringside physician, referee Allen Huggins halted the bout with Gamboa ahead 80-72(x2) and 79-73 on the judges scorecards.
