STEVE LEWIS officially marks his move into professional boxing by making his paid debut tonight.

The 20-year-old former Long Lane amateur boxes without a headguard and vest for the first time this evening in Blackpool.

Lewis, a former Junior ABA champion, is trained by coaches Paul and Mick Stevenson at Everton Red Triangle who are excited about their latest recruit.

Maltese puncher Daniel Micallef has been lined up for Lewis’ professional bow at the Winter Gardens, with their bout taking place over four rounds.

Joining Lewis on the bill is stablemate Jazza Dickens who takes on Michael Isaac Carrero, in a first eight round contest of his career.

Dickens, unbeaten in 11 pro fights, is also scheduled to appear on the undercard of Ricky Hatton’s comeback fight in Manchester on November 24, but must first come through a test against Argentinian Carrero who holds a record of 11 wins from 32 contests.

Tonight’s bill in Blackpool – headlined by Brian Rose’s light-middleweight clash with Vivian Harris – also marks a significant day in the careers of Southport-duo Scott Moonan and Lee Crossland.

The pair also make their paid debuts with Moonan fighting Simone Lucas and Crossland meeting Joe Walsh, with both contests coming in the middleweight division.
