Impressive win for Silva. Can't remember the last time I saw him win by submission.

Franklin vs Le. Le KO'd Franklin with one shot. Scary KO. Out before he hit the ground and when he did his head bounced off the mat hard.
Nice one.. be watching it later. Was going to try and keep away from the result but once I seen all the wow's and ' KO of the year ' messages, I thought fuck it, need to know what happened.

Franklin might fight once more but this is probably the end for him. Even a decent Rich Franklin doesn't lose to Cung Le. It was always going to be a huge stretch for Franklin to work his way through the division back to a title shot. Silva as champ or not. But he wasn't able to beat a journeyman (a big named journeyman but still...) in the division. Rich has never had a Mark Hunt chin, but he can take a shot. He's never been knocked out by a single punch before. Ever. And he's faced a lot bigger punchers before than Cung Le.
If he can't get past Le, then there is no real point for Franklin in going on. There's no dream fight for him to stick around the sport. He's pretty much fought everybody in the sport in or around his weight class. Never ducked anybody. Can't ask any more of him. Its a shame, I loved watching Franklin fight and he, more than any other fighter, I wanted to see capture gold one last time.
Franklin doesn't seem like a guy who will stick around too long. He and his team will come to the conclusion that its time to walk away and I think that is what Rich will do. At the most he will have one more fight just so he can go out on a win. I'm not even sure we'll get that from Rich. Depends on whether or not he feels he needs to.

Or maybe motivated Le is that dangerous. Imagine 25 years old Le competing in MMA. The man is fucking 40 years old and still KO ing former champ. Add to that Le is part time fighter. Shame it's too late for him. He had great potential.

If he had any cardio.. fought at 170 like he should.. was younger.. and trained MMA (wrestling/BJJ), yes, he'd be a hell of a prospect. That's a lot of "ifs". If Vitali trained MMA instead of boxing...
