the 'you guys' has nothing to do with me......I asked a simple question and you go all off the subject to avoid admitting that you have no reliable source for your information.....Yet you still stated it as fact.....
Now you have resorted to calling a statement made by the VP of showtime a rumor.....
All the while holding the position that you don't care what FMJ makes.....I think were done here....

In the short term, sure.
If the Mayweather deal was about trying to position Showtime as at least equal to if not greater than HBO as the premier network for boxing, then they could still "profit" by the additional brand exposure they get from having the biggest draw in the sport fighting exclusively for them.
Whether that bid will pay off in the long run or not is impossible to tell right now.
870,000 PPVs is a very high number.
I hear you.
I find it a little odd how some are trying to simplify what is clearly a complex deal. How could we know or independently confirm the break even number when we don't know how it is calculated?
Showtime/CBS could be including new subscribers in their calculations, or stock prices, or the relative profitability of either entity pre and post deal signage. We simply do not know.
That's why all this talk seems so poorly reasoned, so poorly substantiated to me.
