Bobby Thomas Jr. & Keith Barr Rematch For WBF Intercontinental Title

He is the reigning World Boxing Federation (WBF) North American Cruiserweight Champion, a title he won in his most recent outing last March by defeating Eric Watkins, but Bobby Thomas Jr. has his sights set on fighting for world honors in the not too distant future.

On September 27 at the Nathan Goff Armory in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he can get a step closer to his goal if he is successful in a rematch with Keith “No Holds” Barr, as they square off in a twelve-round main event fight for the vacant WBF Intercontinental title.

Thomas, 14-2-1 (9) in a professional career that started in 2008, was the first man to defeat Barr, 13-6-1 (4), in the pro ranks, when he stopped him in seven heated rounds back in November 2011 for the West Virginia State Heavyweight crown.

The original encounter was good enough to warrant a second go-around, and with their hometowns being less than eighty miles apart (Thomas is from Oak Hill, W.V. and Barr is from Burnsville, W.V.), it is a fight with big local interest and a significant turn-out is expected for part two of this rivalry.

“Hard Knocks Fight Night 32”, presented by Jerry Thomas and his West Virginia Sports Promotions, will also feature a strong undercard with local prospects, including 17-1 Heavyweight Jason Pettaway taking on undefeated Brandon Lee Hinkle in the main supporting bout.
