Middleweight Jermain Taylor getting undeserved IBF title fight

By Kevin Iole,   Yahoo Sports

Jermain Taylor has no business fighting for the IBF middleweight championship on Wednesday at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Miss., but not for the reason that most think.

Taylor, 36, briefly stepped away from boxing after getting pummeled by Arthur Abraham in his opening bout of the Super Six super middleweight tournament on Oct. 17, 2009, in Germany. That fight was the second straight loss by knockout for Taylor, who'd been stopped by Carl Froch in the 12th round of a super middleweight title bout on April 25, 2009.

Many begged Taylor to retire out of concern for his health after the violent loss to Abraham. He appeared to be slurring his words and didn't seem like he could take a punch any more. His promoter, Lou DiBella, urged him to walk away and said...

I'm surprised that Soliman is only favored 3-1.

Taylor shouldn't be fighting.

But there is money to be made.

Question,  does Solomon qualify as a "white boy" ?

I am a Taylor fan and I'm the first to admit that he doesn't deserve this shot. At the same time, how many guys have gotten cracks at belts that they didn't deserve? I believe if this fight is close JT will likely get the nod being that he is with Haymon. Should be an interesting fight nonetheless.

Interesting video... Now that I think about it... Pavlik x 2, froch, and Abraham(loses) All white!! Winky and truax both fair skinned blacks( draw and knockdown). Maybe JT has a white boy complex going through his mind.

It's for a worthless trinket so who cares? Let's see what he has left.

Not worthless at all, if it wasn't for the belt JT would not be fighting Soliman.  Furthermore, ESPN would not be airing it.  The winner will be in line for even bigger fights.  The belts matter.
