Canaries hero Leon McKenzie aims for titles of a different kind

By Chris Lakey

Former Norwich City striker Leon McKenzie – famously a title winner with the Canaries in 2004 – is hoping to add another honour to his list.

The 36-year-old is targeting a domestic boxing title after signing a new promotional deal.

McKenzie, whose two goals at Ipswich in December 23, 2003 sent City to the top of Division One and on their way to the top flight, has put pen to paper on a deal with Steve Goodwin.

“Four of my five bouts have been with the Goodwins,” said McKenzie. “They have always looked after me well and I get on really well with them and head of boxing Kevin Campion, so it was an easy decision to sign a management contract with Steve.”
