  • By David Anderson

The Bolton fighter has his eyes on a bout with Floyd Mayweather and will be looking to impress against the 32-2-1 American

Amir Khan is set to face Robert Guerrero on December 6 in what he hopes will be his last fight before facing Floyd Mayweather Junior.

Khan's promoter Oscar De La Hoya has suggested the contest and now Showtime chief Stephen Espinoza has given it his backing on twitter.

De La Hoya had considered matching Khan with Guerrero before he beat Luis Collazo in May and has pencilled in Brooklyn's Barclays Center for the clash.

About time they got Khan in the ring again.  He seems to be sat round waiting for Floyd to offer him the fight.

Five months ago.  But he'd sat around for a year before that.  He's not been super active.

I love your anger that Froch is avoiding DeGale, but you used to gloat about Ricky Hatton not facing Witter. :D

I could equally say Junior Witter was WBC World Champion and it was a fight a lot of fans wanted to see, whether you like it or not.   (Though, to be fair, Ricky would've laid the smack down on Witter.)

Besides, this was a discussion about Amir Khan and you start dissing Froch.  So you aint got much right to have a go at others for getting butthurt.

hatton had plenty more options.

the options for froch at present seem limited.

unless he wants to grow a pair and fight ward again.

hence why he seems stuck into fighting degale.

the mandatory. :D

Actually, joking aside, that's a fair point.

Barry Mcguigan got some stick for writing in one of the papers that Ricky should've signed to fight Witter when he had instead signed to fight Floyd. I mean, I don't think anybody other than that little Irish bellend was suggesting that Witter was a better opponent than Floyd.

You have a point that Carl may as well fight DeGale, if he's got nothing else going on.  But if and when he does fight DeGale, you get the feeling that's why he'd be doing it.  He doesn't seem that fussed by ending his career with Chunky.

His next fight will probably be his last.  And he's already had two All-British publicity fights with Groves.  Can't complain that the guy is looking for something a bit more interesting than DeGale.

I know that was a tounge in cheek comment, but I do think Carl would fight Ward in a second.  It's Ward's end that the trouble fighting is coming from, not Carl's.
