GGG brings 'drama show' to the West

Originally Published: October 17, 2014By Dan Rafael | ESPN.com

CARSON, Calif. -- The GGG show -- the greatest show in boxing -- has arrived on the West Coast and will play to a sold-out house. It's good to be middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin, boxing's supreme wrecking machine inside the ring and a smiling, aw-shucks good guy outside of it.

After spending most of the past two years fighting on the East Coast to ever-increasing crowds, Golovkin is bringing his "big drama show" -- as he likes to say -- to the StubHub Center, where he will make his 12th defense against interim titlist Marco Antonio Rubio of Mexico before a packed house of more than 9,000 Saturday night (HBO, 10 ET/PT).

"This is my first fight in California and this is for the people, so thank you to my fans. People love my style. It's like Mexican style," Golovkin said of the fight, which was named "Mexican Style" by K2 Promotions. "It's a great name for the show. It's a good show, good deal."
