Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. signs contract with Al Haymon, seeks a big fight

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. announced in a statement Monday that he's signed with powerful manager Al Haymon.

Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has signed with manager Al Haymon, and told Yahoo Sports he is eager to resume his boxing career. That statement may set up a heavyweight legal battle between Top Rank chairman Bob Arum on one side, and Haymon and Chavez on the other.



Arum and Haymon are two of the most powerful figures in boxing, if not the top two, and Chavez has been for several years one of the game's biggest drawing cards.

Given that Top Rank filed suit against Chavez last month in U.S. District Court in Nevada, it seems optimistic to believe he'll be in the ring any time soon.

Top Rank alleged in its case that Chavez owes....
