HBO picks up Klitschko-Pulev

By Dan Rafael | ESPN.com

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- HBO announced to press row on Saturday night at the Bernard Hopkins-Sergey Kovalev fight at Boardwalk Hall that it has finalized a deal to carry live American coverage of the Nov. 15 heavyweight championship fight between Wladimir Klitschko and mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev from the O2 World arena in Hamburg, Germany.

The telecast will begin at 4:45 p.m. ET/PT, an HBO spokesman said.

HBO’s deal for the fight, according to a source with knowledge of the deal, said the agreement to carry the Pulev fight is part of a larger overall deal the network has made with Klitschko for three fights.

It seems like a very smart move...

Will Wilder ever be ready to face Wlad? It's time for a dominant American champ again. The euros are horrible hw champs.

Yes but it won't be Wilder.

When Wlad gets old, he will get beat.

Until then, get used to him.

It's just too bad some great fights such as the Haye and Wach bouts were missed by a large amount of boxing fans due to HBO being retarded.

The Wach fight in particular showcased an amazing fighter in Wlad Klitchko.

Wilder could get lucky with a big punch, but more likely he eats a few too many right hands himself.

Haye stupid, Wlad vs Haye wasn't a great fight at all.

You're just butthurt haye was dominated.

Klitchko was great that day.

If haye won, you'd think it was great.

Instead, the champion proved himself AGAIN and people are just now starting to warm up to the idea that he's a boxing great.

That fight was only great if you're a Klitschko or sucking Klitschko off. Is your last name Klitschko?

Yes it will. He is the greatest American heavyweight since Ali.
I like wilder but his footwork is sloppy and he chicken wings his punches.

Good. Boring or not, I hate that HBO does not show Wlad fights....specially considering it shows Bernard Hopkins ones and Showtime shows Floyd Mayweather ones....

Haye would have to be a great fighter to defeat Wlad at this point, so that kinda goes without saying...

HBO wasn't being "retarded" like you.  The Klits don't bring in viewers.  Especially Wlad.  Boring as fuck.  Almost none of his KOs are of the spectacular variety.  He's overly cautious, doesn't have a mean streak and is a terrible interview.  No upside to the guy....unless of course you're a dumb, racist honky such as yourself.

HBO showed the fight, so how are they retarded?

Wilder won't make it past Stiverne. Only way that fight happens is if Stiverne goes on to KO Wlad and then Wlad possibly fights Wilder on his way back up. Wilder is not a boxer or even a fighter, he's a one dimensional puncher.

Pulev is a tough guy who doesn't back up and doesn't stop throwing. He hits a lot harder than his KO record shows and he's closer to Wlad's height ( 6'4"). Don't be surprised if Wlad has his most difficult fight in years, could even be an upset.
