18-year-old Methacton student to make pro boxing debut at Valley Forge Casino Resort

PHOENIXVILLE >> Sammy Berman has yet to graduate from high school. But he is also on the threshhold of a very important step in his young life as an athlete.

Berman, an 18-year-old senior at Methacton High School, will be making his professional boxing debut on Saturday night, Nov. 22, at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia. Berman, who started boxing at age 13, has been developing his skills with the Phoenixville Area Police Athletic League (PAL) youth boxing program since that time.

The left-hander, who is a welterweight in the 147-pound weight class, is paired with Jamikey Woods (0-1) of Statesville, N.C., in a scheduled four-round bout on a seven-bout card by King’s Promotions....
