Jamie McDonnell to fight Chacon

Bantamweight titlist Jamie McDonnell was due to defend his secondary 118-pound world title against Walberto Ramos at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England, on Saturday on the undercard of the Nathan Cleverly-Tony Bellew rematch. However, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced that Ramos (23-6-2, 16 KOs), 33, of Colombia, was dropped from the fight due to complications getting a visa and was replaced by Chacon (20-2, 5 KOs), 33, of Argentina.

In May 2013, McDonnell (24-2-1, 11 KOs), 28, of England, won via majority decision against Mexico's Julio Ceja to claim a vacant bantamweight world title but he never defended it. He was stripped when he did not make his mandatory defense in time.

This past May, McDonnell won another vacant belt by virtue of his 10th-round knockout of Thailand's Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat and will be defending it against Chacon....
