The training secrets of Emanuel Steward and Adam Booth

After switching trainers from the legendary Emanuel Steward to the man who guided David Haye's career, Adam Booth, via a spell at Wladimir Klitschko's training camp, Andy Lee compares the work of the two cornermen for ESPN as he prepares to face Russian Matt Korobov for the vacant WBO world middleweight title in Las Vegas on December 13:

I've been working with Adam Booth since late 2012. I was with Emanuel Steward for my entire career but I knew I had to find a new trainer after I lost to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr [in the seventh round for the WBC title in June 2012].

When Manny fell ill before he passed away [in October 2012], I was ready for a change because I had been in America nearly six years. I just needed a change, a new approach and some new ideas. After I fought Chavez, I knew I had to improve if I was to win a world title. I didn't know Adam at the time but knew of him and what he had done. He always impressed me as a trainer and what he said about boxing.
