Zou Shiming Emerges as a Boxing Star in China

Undefeated in his professional boxing career, two-time Olympic gold medallist Zou “Fists of Gold” Shiming (6-0, 1 KO) of Zunyi, China put on a dazzling display of solid technical boxing, defeating tough challenger Kwanpichit OnesongchaiGym (27-1-2, 12 KO’s) of Thailand, by unanimous decision over twelve rounds.

Shiming impressed fans and observers alike as he danced a flurry around OnesongchaiGym, dropping his Thai foe on multiple occasions, showcasing power that had not previously been witnessed. Early in his career, Shiming was thought to posses the technical acumen of a seasoned professional but lacked the power required to transform him from a budding amateur into grizzled action star.

Working with Nevada Boxing Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach, who is also the trainer of pound-for-pound champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, Shiming learned to sit down on his punches and throw with power.....
