Jean Pascal denied a KO win

Jean Pascal’s fight against Roberto Bolonti ended in a controversial no-contest result in Montreal on Saturday night.
The referee, Michael Griffin, ruled that the Canadian light-heavyweight had, unintentionally, hit his Argentinian opponent after he had ordered them to break.

Bolonti did not get up after being knocked down for the second time in the second round and the referee stopped the bout. It took a while before the result was confirmed.

Pascal, a former WBC and IBO champion, seemed to be on his way to an early victory when the bout came to a sudden end. His record now stands at 29-2-1, with one no-contest and 24 knockouts.

Bolonti, who left the ring on a stretcher, now stands at 35-3, with one no-contest and 24 shortcut wins...
