Mayweather: No one has heard of Amir Khan

ESPN UK
Floyd Mayweather has poured scorn on Amir Khan's chances of securing a super-fight with him because "no one has heard" of the Briton.

Khan was hopeful of getting a shot at Mayweather after his convincing victory over Devon Alexander in Las Vegas last weekend, but the pound-for-pound champion has once again insisted he wants to fight welterweight rival Manny Pacquiao.

"I feel like I proved to everyone that I deserved that [Mayweather] fight," Khan said after Saturday's unanimous decision victory over Alexander at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

But Mayweather has insisted Khan's inability to draw a huge crowd at boxing's glitziest venue showed there was little interest in the Briton.

"The other night I think he did 4,000 [attendance], so, Amir Khan, his name holds no weight," Mayweather said at the World Boxing Council convention. "No one knows who Amir Khan is, except for people who are involved in boxing.

"My focus is Manny Pacquiao. Let's make it happen."....

Yeah because the likes of Maidana, Guerrero, and Ortiz were all household names.

I've backed Mayweather in the past, but shits getting blatantly obvious that if he sees anyone as a threat style wise he produces excuse after excuse to not fight them, with zero logic behind those excuses.

Amirs an Olympian and unified champ, and he's been involved in a fight of the year with maidana. he's certainly not unknown.

And he's not from the US yet he's headlining in the MGM in LV.

Crunch time for Mayweather now, I don't think he's got anywhere left to go... I think he's used all his gimme cards up with those two dreadful fights against Maidana. Ideally it will be Pac next, if not Pac then Khan, if not Khan then I'm sure he'll scrape in the Garcia fight and still be able to sell the fight.

My guesses are he goes with Garcia.

I believe that fight already happened in a parallel universe not long ago.
