the l.a. boxing franchise is a fitness gym. most, if not all, are not real boxing gyms.

i realize that , was just curious what their rates were, thought i might be more enjoyable than staring at a wall while on the treadmill.

Yeah I think they're more geared towards fitness, but that's not always the case. Being as LA Fitness is a franchise you can buy into, the quality of instruction is largely based who the particular owner is.

There are some clubs that have professional boxers and mixed martial artists who teach the classes. Some clubs have thorough striking classes that include sparring and some include a good amount of grappling.

What I suggest you to do is to go in for the free class, take a look at the place and speak to the owner about their class schedule. Ask if they'll be including any sparring and if there will be any serious classes for guys who want contact instead of having classes for only the soccer mom crowd.

I recently joined a club that's going to be opening in my area that seems similar to LA Boxing except for the fact that they'll have a MMA cage as well as a standard sized boxing ring.

wrong LA Fitness has private owners...they are not open to the public and is not a franchise you can buy into...but they do have quality instructors and trainers...one of the trainers was a friend of the FB players who got lost at sea...he was the only one that survived....

I had a free membership, since I explained to them my deploying to Iraq situation, and only had 4-5 months left and they couldn't set up a payent system for me, not to mention I knew one trainer there and they liked me alot because I came in MORE, WITHOUT a membership, than people DID WITH memberships. I used to do a 2-3 cardio classes early in the AM, then boxing for a few hours in the afternoon, and then wrestling and kickboxing at night. All with the same trainer, were good friends. I had amazing stamina wrestling wise and boxing, and I was competing in grappling competitions, taking 1st and 2nd place all the time. It's a great gym to get in shape with. Only if you can be cool with the trainers, that was the key for me. They loved me and my work ethic. I recommend it, it's a cool gym. I came home from the deployment and they fired all the old staff due to new management and the people were trash. So I just left and I'm at a different gym now.
