If you keep your hand tense and spread your fingers you can wrap it tightly and it will be okay. Your hands will be relaxed afterwards and you will get a perfect fit. I think if you relax your hands when wrapping the hands, it might cause injury. I broke my hand on the outside and when I use to wrap my hands and keep them relaxed, the wraps would push the little finger inwards. I didn't know until the pain set in. That's when I started to tense my hands and spread the fingers. I've seen Floyd Mayweather doing it too!

I've started to use two sets of handwraps whenever I use sparring gloves. I've seen a few pro's using two handwraps too. The champ's use boxing tape over their wraps but that is a bit time consuming. Until I get somebody who is going to wrap my hands, I'll stick to two sets of wraps because it does reduce the pains. It's also about the same size when it is finally wrapped. Your gloves fit better too.
sweet science
Just speard your fingers apart and bend your wrist up just a little bit.

Watch this video. Diego Corrales is getting his hands wrapped properley. Alot of top fighters do not use handwraps but use bandages instead. They use bandages at top title fights too. They are usually supplied as a rule by the sanctioning body. The boxing tape is also supplied by them, to prevent illegal activities. Does anybody know what kind of bandages they use to wrap their hands? Also, I would like to know if there are any benefits. It must be expensive using new bandages everyday. They use quite alot as well, as you can see in the Floyd Mayweather video.

The part about the fingers is very important. I stopped doing this once and injured my hand. It is also important to keep the hands rigid and tense whilst wrapping the hands. I find this useful because sometimes when its slack you can wrap your hands tightly and injure the little finger/outside of hand if it is pushed inwards. You won't know until it is too late and cause an injury when you hit the heavy bag.

Are you serious? blink.gif You use two handwraps on ONE HAND? Doesn't that cut off the blood circulation in you're hand? Not to mention how pumped it would look.. Oh well, that's just me I guess..

Yes it will be costly new bandages everyday, the benefits are they are much softer and friendlier on your skin. All the pro fighters use bandages for these reasons down the club i train at as far as im aware.

two handwraps on one hand works so much better, you can use about half of the first roll for some extra padding on your knuckles and start wrapping your wrist n around your thumb, which is very critical. After a few rolls around ya wrist n thumb area, you got a whole other handwrap to cover up the wrist better, protect the knuckles and tie between ya fingers.

I dont need all that gauze and tape..i just hit a heavybag ...i use the handwraps that loop over your thumb...i spread the fingers out and wrap fairly tight, then when you close the fingers its comfortable. I use bag mitts, everlast...bit bigger than the small bag mitts that have a bar in em...i sometimes put a bandaid over a few of the knuckles., as sweaty hands open up my I am so bloody poor that Dead fish smells fresher than the vagina I eat. skin. I dont think i always turn the punch over correctly. If yer real time then i guess you wrap up well, paying special attention to strenghtening the little finger side...cause it breaks first...

not really that hard to do your wraps, you get use to it after the first time(well i did) i think you should start off from your fongers and go over it but not go around your actualy fingers, go around your hand smile.gif
