sweet science
Teach him/her to always get off first, block and counter off of a straight right. Also, remember to teach him/her to perfect the right hook.

How do you open up a gym and not know how to train a southpaw? Just do the opposet of everything that you teach a righty.

great question...training ppl its serious stuff and u should be responsable...

I think u should contact ur trainer or any other real trainer in person (not here) and learn how to train a southpaw....or just be honest and save the kid from a beating by telling him to get another trainer....cause if u give the wrong advice and the kid gets hurt its all on u....

it doesn't matter if your training othadox or southpal. You train the same to get a well rounded fighter. Learn your fighters stengths and make them better.
I usually start everyone off with wroking on offensive techniques for the first month or two. Then get into defensive techniques and block and counters, so within 3 months you have a well rounded fighter. Then you set up offensive training days, toning and make sure there are days set up to train on defense, blocks and counters.

Get him to throw the hook over a orthodox fighters jab, thatll work good. Develop a solid jab first though, then mix that in. Keeping his lead foot OUTSIDE of a orthodox fighters lead foot is very important also.

I just started training someone and he happens to be lefty, thats what I've been working on him with and so far, so good. Hope that helps.
